About Us
Founded by the wife of a Vietnam Veteran who saw both a need and an opportunity, Denim for Veterans is a non-profit organization dedicated to making and distributing quilts for unhoused veterans. Our mission is to provide comfort and warmth to those who have served our country and are now in need. We take pride in our team of volunteers who work tirelessly to create these quilts and make a difference in the lives of veterans. Our story is one of compassion, dedication, and service to those who have sacrificed for our nation.
More than just a source of warmth, these quilts are a symbol of honor, resilience, and care created by volunteers and supported by community donations.
Our Mission
Denim for Veterans is dedicated to providing warmth, dignity, and hope to homeless veterans by transforming donated denim into handcrafted quilts. Through community-driven creativity and heartfelt service, we honor those who served by ensuring they are seen, valued, and cared for.

The Environmental Case: Fighting Textile Waste with Purpose
Denim is one of the most environmentally costly fabrics to produce—it takes 1,800 gallons of water to grow the cotton for a single pair of jeans. Despite this, millions of pounds of denim end up in landfills each year. Denim for Veterans rescues discarded denim and breathes new life into it by transforming it into something valuable.
